We take the protection of your personal data seriously. This Privacy Policy informs you in accordance with Art. 13 GDPR about which personal data we process when you visit our website and what rights you have.

3. General Information on Data Processing
3.1 Scope of the Processing of Personal Data
We process personal data of our users only to the extent necessary to provide a functional website and our content and services. Personal data of our users is regularly only processed after the user’s consent. An exception applies in cases where prior consent cannot be obtained for practical reasons and the processing of the data is permitted by law.
3.2 Legal Basis for the Processing of Personal Data
Where we obtain the consent of the data subject for processing personal data, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR serves as the legal basis. For processing of personal data necessary for the performance of a contract, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR serves as the legal basis. Where processing is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation, Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR serves as the legal basis. Where processing is necessary for the purposes of the legitimate interests pursued by us or a third party, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR serves as the legal basis.
3.3 Data Deletion and Storage Period
Personal data of the data subject is deleted or blocked as soon as the purpose of storage ceases to apply. Storage may also occur if provided for by European or national legislators in EU regulations, laws or other provisions to which the controller is subject.
4. Provision of the Website and Creation of Log Files
4.1 Description and Scope of Data Processing
Each time our website is accessed, our system automatically collects data and information from the accessing computer. The following data is collected:
- Information about the browser type and version used
- The operating system of the user
- The user’s internet service provider
- The IP address of the user
- Date and time of access
- Websites from which the user’s system reaches our website
The data is also stored in the log files of our system. This data is not stored together with other personal data of the user.
4.2 Legal Basis for Data Processing
The legal basis for the temporary storage of data and log files is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
4.3 Purpose of Data Processing
The temporary storage of the IP address by the system is necessary to enable delivery of the website to the user’s computer. Storage in log files ensures the functionality of the website and the security of our information technology systems.
4.4 Storage Period
The data is deleted as soon as it is no longer necessary for the purpose for which it was collected. For log file data, this is the case after seven days at the latest.
4.5 Right to Object
The collection of data for the provision of the website and the storage of data in log files is strictly necessary for the operation of the website. There is consequently no right of objection on the part of the user.
5. Web Analytics with Umami
5.1 Description and Scope of Data Processing
We use Umami Analytics on this website, a privacy-friendly web analytics service. Umami does not use cookies and does not store any personal data. The analysis is based on anonymised, aggregated data (e.g. page views, country of origin, browser used). Identification of individual persons is not possible.
Umami is self-hosted on a server operated by nGENn GmbH (analytics.ngenn.net). No data is shared with third parties.
5.2 Legal Basis for Data Processing
The legal basis for processing is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest consists in the statistical evaluation of user behaviour for the purpose of optimising our offering.
5.3 Right to Object
Since Umami does not collect personal data and does not set cookies, no individual objection is technically necessary.
6. Newsletter
6.1 Description and Scope of Data Processing
Our website offers the option to subscribe to a free newsletter. When registering for the newsletter, the following data is transmitted to us:
- Email address
Additionally, the following data is collected at registration:
- IP address of the accessing computer
- Date and time of registration
Registration is carried out using a double opt-in procedure: after entering your email address you will receive a confirmation email requiring you to confirm your subscription by clicking a link.
No data is passed on to third parties. The data is used exclusively for sending the newsletter.
6.2 Legal Basis for Data Processing
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent).
6.3 Purpose of Data Processing
The email address is collected for the purpose of delivering the newsletter.
6.4 Storage Period
The email address is stored for as long as the newsletter subscription is active.
6.5 Right to Object and Cancellation
The newsletter subscription can be cancelled by the user at any time. Each newsletter contains a corresponding unsubscribe link. This also enables the withdrawal of consent to the storage of personal data collected during the registration process.
7. Rights of the Data Subject
If personal data of a user is processed, they are a data subject within the meaning of the GDPR and have the following rights against the controller:
7.1 Right of Access
You may request confirmation from the controller as to whether personal data concerning you is being processed (Art. 15 GDPR).
7.2 Right to Rectification
You have the right to rectification and/or completion if the personal data processed concerning you is inaccurate or incomplete (Art. 16 GDPR).
7.3 Right to Restriction of Processing
Under certain conditions you may request the restriction of the processing of personal data concerning you (Art. 18 GDPR).
7.4 Right to Erasure
You may request the controller to erase personal data concerning you without undue delay where one of the statutory grounds applies (Art. 17 GDPR).
7.5 Right to Data Portability
You have the right to receive personal data concerning you in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format (Art. 20 GDPR).
7.6 Right to Object
You have the right to object at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to the processing of personal data concerning you (Art. 21 GDPR).
7.7 Right to Withdraw Consent
You have the right to withdraw your declaration of consent under data protection law at any time. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.
7.8 Right to Lodge a Complaint with a Supervisory Authority
Without prejudice to any other remedy, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority if you consider that the processing of personal data concerning you infringes the GDPR (Art. 77 GDPR).
